Home/Island Design

Resolved concept focusing on Volan's home, experimenting with some additional details over the base previs image. I distorted the proportions slightly to give a more quirky impression to the house overall.

Next, I will likely continue to develop the previs refining camera movement and specific elements, while also kick starting production with modelling.

could it get quirkier, Leo?

Uh, is that what you are suggesting? I imagine I would be able to tell and play up the quirkyness more so when modelling.

Like the painting Leo, however I would suggest looking over it and make some notes, particularly regarding the logic of your design. For example you have a water wheel that is no longer being used,is this now a chain drive system instead? This man is an adaptor and therefore nothing would go to waste. Be creative with the foundation you have in your image. Do it on paper first.

Hi Alan, I realise it was a sort of mistake to say this is a 'resolved' piece, as it is also clear to me that the house needs more development. I intended this paintover to be a test with aesthetic details to help define the tonality overalll, but I guess I got a little carried away.
I'm currently reworking the house and island design so I'll have something up soon enough.

Oh and the water wheel would still be driving the propeller below the island, I just didn't capture it in this piece as it was focusing on the house.

Hey Leo :) How's it going? By 'quirkier' I just meant that maybe the architecture could be pushed a little more, and maybe you could introduce some kind of allotment or flower patch (some accent colours in this earthy palette of yours). I think Alan is pushing similarly - just for something a bit more idiosyncratic and characterful - obviously the fact that it is on a flying island is pretty idosyncratic, but you know what I mean!

Hi Phil, I understand and agree with your suggestions. I'll update my current progress on the home design shortly.
